Once upon a time, in what seems like another lifetime, I used to enjoy basking in the sunshine, breeze blowing through my hair while sinking my lips into a delicious ice cream cone. One of my favorite ice cream flavors, my “go to” flavor, was Mocha Almond Fudge by Baskin Robins - in a sugar or waffle cone, depending on my mood…and funds. The flavor of coffee, with sweet cream, fudge and almonds all swirled together always lifted my spirit and sent my senses soaring. I was recently transported back in time when I blended a couple of teas from my inventory. The smell and flavor of this blend reminded me of my beloved Mocha Almond Fudge cones that I used to enjoy. I arrived at this blend by divine inspiration, my tea spirit whispered into my ear “just try it” and a lovely brew was born. The teas I blended are Mocha Latte Black Tea by Sisters Tea Company and Almond Sugar Cookie Dessert Tea by Simpson & Vail, both are black teas and are scrumptious all on their own. However, blended together, they are AMAZING and the flavors compliment each other well. I felt like I was drinking tea from a waffle cone…
Remember walking into an ice cream parlor?? The aroma was so enticing, the smell of warm cones being baked, the sweet smell of fudge, caramel and butterscotch dancing through the air. Like an appetizer before the main course, the aromas beckon you to the counter to view all the flavors - let's not even start on the free samples they give you. I never needed a sample, I just KNEW what I wanted - Mocha Almond Fudge and I walked sure-footed to the counter. The aroma of this tea is like that, you just KNOW…the smell of coffee, vanilla, almonds and fudge are strong in this blend. Brewing it is like watching the parlor patron scoop ice cream into your cone.
This tea combination brews a strong cup of tea with lots of character, it’s a bold blend and the tea leaves open up right away to produce a dark chestnut hue. The heat only intensifies the aromas of coffee and almonds, only to be followed by chocolate. After about 7 minutes, I add some cream to bring it all together - this blend NEEDS cream. The cream ties all the flavors together and it wouldn’t be Mocha Almond Fudge without it. My first sip, I could hear angels singing a chorus of hallelujah and chills running down my spine from the slight breeze circling my torso. My eyes popped and I had a huge smile on my face and a spring in my step as I realized I just brewed a cup of Mocha Almond Fudge ice cream, cone and all.
The next time you’re craving a delicious Mocha Almond Fudge cone and can’t get to the ice cream parlor for whatever reason, brew yourself a cone. Blend these two teas and get ready to walk sure-footed into a happy place.

Sounds absolutely scrumptious, thank you! I also used to love Mocha Almond Fudge from Baskin and Robbins back in the day!
