We all have a “happy place”, somewhere we go when the trials of this world get difficult to bear. For some, it’s a childhood story or place one can visit and play. Anything that brings joy and uplifts your spirit will suffice. For me, one of my most cherished “happy places” is treating myself to a High Tea. A great cup of tea can also uplift my spirit like nothing else BUT a High Tea lifts my spirit in an entirely different way. I relate it to Christmas morning, as it’s a sweet gift of tea and special nibbles solely for me and my enjoyment. Being Keto, I need to get creative with my menu options but I have created some very tasty and healthy high teas that have brought me immense joy. I also have several designated tea rooms that I frequent who appreciate my business and that I support - all local businesses in the San Francisco Bay Area. I can’t emphasize enough the importance of supporting a small/local business. In the spirit of supporting a local small business and sharing my most recent “happy place” visit, I’d like to introduce you to one of my favorite local tea rooms, Sip Tea Room. It’s located across from Golden Gate Park in San Francisco and has a delectable menu filled with sweet treats and a good variety of High Tea options.
I have frequented this tea room for years and I am always excited and delighted with the menu items that they surprise me with, each visit. My Keto high tea menu items consist of getting their quiche with a pot of tea. The quiche is different each week, so I’m constantly trying out new creations that they implement. I also add a scoop of egg salad, curry chicken salad or caprese salad - depending on what they have available that day.
In addition to the food, they have a delightful selection of teas to choose from. Being the tea connoisseur that I am, I always blend teas together. Here are some of my favorite tea menu creations that I have enjoyed over the years:
Scottish Breakfast black tea and Masala Chai black tea
Early Grey black tea with China Rose Petal black tea
Masala Chai black tea with Mango black tea
Blue Malva Flower Earl Grey with Scottish Breakfast black tea
Whichever tea you select, it is sure to please your palate! The next time you visit San Francisco and wish to treat yourself to a high tea, be sure to visit this tea room. I’m confident you will be able to add this place to the list of your “happy places” as well.

Seems like there are many great tea places in the Bay Area!
Ooh that looks beautiful. Being Asian, high tea isn’t much in our realm. It’s features though never fails to inspire me.
